Start of facility detailed information

Based on cooperation with the National Museum of Korea, Incheon International Airport Corporation opened the Incheon Airport Museum on June 24, 2021, which exhibits genuine relics of the National Museum of Korea in the concourse of Terminal 1. The exterior of the Incheon Airport Museum was designed by reinterpreting in a modern way the upper board rolled up in the form of a scroll on both sides of a Gyeongsang (pencil), which was used as a desk during the Joseon Dynasty. The interior of the museum consists of an 'exhibition hall' that exhibits genuine relics of the National Museum of Korea and an 'exhibition lounge' that displays national intangible cultural properties and Korean culture-related works, so that the past and present of Korean culture can be appreciated in one space. It has been. In particular, the exhibition hall is based on the shape of the inner box of the eobo, which stores the eobo (御寶) of the Joseon Dynasty. It is made of brass plate with the texture of Korean traditional bangjja yugi as a motif, giving the overall feeling of 'a box containing precious things' and it looks like a work of art in itself. For the opening of the Incheon Airport Museum, Incheon International Airport Corporation signed a business agreement with the National Museum of Korea in April for the exhibition of authentic artifacts at Incheon Airport. Efforts have been made to create exhibition facilities and storage facilities comparable to those of the Central Museum. Based on continuous cooperation with the National Museum of Korea, Incheon International Airport Corporation plans to introduce regular exhibitions of original artifacts and special exhibitions.
